Meeting God: Elements of Hindu Devotion/Tour
Cartwright Hall Art Museum; Bradford, England

This exhibition is the travelling version of the original "Meeting
God" exhibition, specifically designed to tour throughout Europe
and beyond. The curator at the Cartwright Hall Art Museum recognized
the importance of bringing information about Hinduism to the people
of Bradford, which has a very large Muslim population. The exhibition
has been very well received thus far.

An exhibition about the daily devotion of the Hindus, a religion that
is the central focus of one in five human beings. Comprised of photographs,
shrines and sacred articles, Meeting God encourages the viewer to
interact and become involved with questions about their own beliefs.
This site, created by the American Museum of Natural History, explores
many of the various aspects of the show and includes video and audio
clips.

In this multi-media exhibition, photographer and cultural anthropologist
Stephen Huyler pushes through boundaries, printing his colorful images
on paper, fabric, brushed metal, and Plexiglas. He combines sculptural
forms with interactive displays and videos to create the overlapping
veils of sensory experience that he finds so common in India.
